Yestermorrow Design/Build School is pleased to kick off the new year with several exciting staff changes!

Charlotte Potter has taken the helm as Yestermorrow’s new Executive Director. Born and raised in the Mad River Valley, Charlotte is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design. She started her career as a glass artist and was most recently the Founding Programming Director of the Glass Studio at Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, VA. There, Charlotte established more than 20 programs including a pioneering monthly performance glass platform and over 22 regional and national partnerships. Charlotte is an educator and has taught glass and new media courses at universities and summer programs, from Australian National University to Penland School of Crafts. As an artist, educator and arts administrator, Charlotte brings a unique perspective to the Yestermorrow curriculum and is well prepared to help the staff and programming continue to thrive.

Britton Rogers has joined the team as the Design/Build faculty, which is a brand new position at Yestermorrow. In this role, he will develop curriculum, help manage course projects and teach several courses including the Semester in Design/Build. With a Bachelor of Architecture from UT Austin, Britton has practiced architecture and environmental design in several firms. After licensing and LEED accreditation, Britton wanted more for the built environment, which led him to pursue a Certificate in Sustainable Building and Design at Yestermorrow, and a Master of Environmental Design from Yale. He examined urban and landscape history, including the reuse of abandoned buildings and toxic industrial landscapes. After graduating, Britton stayed at Yale to teach advanced design and urban history. In his practice today, Britton focuses on renovations and restorations, as well as designs for gardens and landscapes.  He also writes about and photographs urban landscapes, infrastructure, and industrial relics.

Sophi Veltrop started at Yestermorrow in the Spring of 2018 as an intern. We are excited to have her as a permanent fixture of the Yestermorrow team as the Student Services Coordinator. Sophi is the main point of contact for future and current students and coordinates all aspects of the student experience. Sophi's career in design/build began at the age of five, constructing fairy houses in the woods. Though her business hasn't taken off (yet) she continues to explore how humans inhabit the natural world through craft, foraging, story-telling, gardening, and wandering the woods. She is delighted to be a part of Yestermorrow, and volunteers at Earthwalk Vermont and Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity.
