Erik first landed at Yestermorrow in the summer of 2001 as a student and several years later returned to The Valley to manage the treehouse department at John Connell’s design-build firm, 2morrow Studio. In 2007, Erik left to pursue higher education and work in Boston, MA, Eugene, OR, and Stuttgart, Germany. Wherever his travels have taken him, Erik has returned every year to teach the Sustainable Treehouse Design-Build Course at Yestermorrow. With treehouse projects all over the Mad River Valley and countless tree house graduates, the tree house class is Erik’s roots, source of inspiration, and creative outlet. 

Erik lives outside Boston with his wife and two daughters in an old Victorian house of never-ending projects. When he is not biking through Boston or sailing with his family, Erik is a licensed architect and partner at Behnisch Architekten in Boston, a German architecture firm specializing in integrated design and sustainability.
